I just want to mention that this is fanfiction, for anyone who stumbles upon it and thinks I'm stalking Benedict Cumberbatch and staging terrorist attacks. !-)

Universal Connections

"Wow," Ben murmured, "You do tweet."
Having just gotten jailed, I had to agree. I blame Shaliza.

Jo, make him say hello.
It's not Jo I'm using her account. BC here, hello Shaliza!
Did that just happen?!
Jo again, yes, yes it did. We're doing a vid message l8r.
How later?
The end of school.
I can't believe we have to wait so long!
Ben back, it's because we're in a Chinese carry-out restaurant right now :)
He emoticoned. That happened.
Of course I emoticoned! I had emotions to express digitally. How else am I meant to convey my smiles.
Joanne just suggested I could use a video message. very funny
So you two are really good friends. Have you ever met?
We were thinking about doing it soon.
It would be awesome.

Benedict was silent for so long that I felt compelled to inform them we had not died but then he tweeted something.

I want to help.
I want to bring you together.
It's not fair that you live so far apart.
...
...
FEELS.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?
Yes, I'll arrange it soon.1 of the things for documentary is I hav 2 organize an event for the teens. I'll think o somethin

Fiona and I stared at him. Not at the shirt. At him. Why would he care about Twitter? What was I missing? How could this make sense. I was so close to him, yet I felt the length of Russia away. I felt like Shaliza were flanking me.
"Boiled rice curry sauce!" the woman behind the counter called.
I swivelled around and carefully collected my order. I sat it on the polished surface of the mini-wall that separates the waiting from those ordering, still in shock and not trusting my nerves to chew without making a fatal error. Fiona was sat beside Benedict, munching on some chips lathered generously in Sweet 'n' Sour sauce. I tapped him on the shoulder.
 "Yes," he replied.
"Why are you doing this. What do you get?"
"I get to prove a point. I want to show that the Internet is not where lives go to die."
"Didn't know you were so supportive," Fiona murmured.
"Oh, I am," he replied, "Say, for example, the theory that there is one woman in the world for me, my soulmate, is true, which I don't believe in the slightest. The world is a big place. What if I never meet her. What if I never go on Twitter and realise there's this person who's interests exactly mirror mine and we are two of a kind, we are two-nique. Without Internet, I will never meet this person unless I live near her. I mean, how many other people from Brighton do you actually talk to, Joanne? Why are you smiling?"
With the laptop loosely in my grip, I grinned, "I just filmed that, and it is so gonna be the video message."
